"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'" Matthew 28:18–20
A disciple of Jesus is simply someone who, having been saved by Jesus, is following after Jesus and helping others to do the same. To be a disciple necessitates the posture and practice of learning; being a student. Study Groups at Grace Church are a part of our small group ministry and act as one expression of our joyful commitment together as God’s people to seek to grow in our knowledge of God and application of His Word to our lives.
Our Study Groups meet in the fall and spring and provide a specific context to give focused attention to the Word of God and specific theological topics, with the intention of fostering relationships while deepening our knowledge of God, what He says, and how we are called to live.

Living Well in Babylon (John Loftness)
This group will explore how the life of God revealed in Scripture can result in life—abundant life—in a tech-obsessed, entertainment-driven, self-absorbed, commercially-dominated world. We will compare the theology of the Bible to the idolatries of this age and consider how to avoid the influence of these idols while cultivating a joy-filled, abundant life in the day-to-day experiences of living in God’s creation at the time and in place he has chosen for us.
Location: John's Home
Day & Time: Wednesdays at 7pm
Dates: September 18, October 2, 16 & 30, November 13
Living Life Backward by David Gibson (Chris Mays)
This group will dive into Gibson's biblical perspective on the inevitability of death and the importance of focusing on eternity in order that we live wisely, 'relish all the small things of life in deeply profound ways', and enjoy the fullness of life God has for us as He prepares us for eternity.
Location: Chris’ Home
Day & Time: Wednesdays at 7pm
Dates: September 11 & 25, October 9 & 30, November 13, December 11
Deeper: Real Change for Real Sinners by Dane Ortlund (Jason Briggs)
Do you want to grow in godliness? Great! You desire a wonderful thing. Do you ever feel change in the Christian life is elusive? You are not alone. Thankfully God's word doesn't leave us in the dark about how to move forward. This study will explore the biblical reality that sanctification does not happen by doing more or becoming better, but by going deeper into the wondrous gospel truths that have united us in Christ. So, come join us as we fix our eyes on our Savior and seek His grace to grow and live.
*Note: this study was originally based on the book Devoted to God, but due to book unavailability, we have shifted to Dane Ortlund's book Deeper: Real Change for Real Sinners.
