On July 12th we held our first baptism. It was a very meaningful time as both Kenny McCuistion and Evelyn Mays shared their testimonies of how God has captured their hearts. Much thanks to the Zulicks for hosting and letting us use their pool. Afterwards we all celebrated with some amazing barbecue thanks to our own professional BBQ judges, Devon and Kristine Kauflin! It was a sweet, memorable day.

Here is Evelyn's testimony she shared before being baptized:

Hi everyone. Like most church kids I was raised in a God fearing home by two loving parents who always pointed me to Christ. Throughout my life there have been so many people who have influenced me and helped me through my walk with Christ, but one person in particular made an impact on my life that I will never forget. As many of you know, my friend and teammate Teressa French was killed in a car accident last year in January. She was the kindest, most loving person I have ever known and her love for Christ was most evident. Her life was so full of joy and it was evident that God was the most important thing in her life, but it was after the accident that she made the most impact on my life and many others. The accident made me realize that our life isn't about waiting for God to do something drastic in our lives for us to realize our need for him, it's about us pursuing him because we don't know how long our lives will be and our purpose is to glorify him with every second of it. Today I'm here to publicly proclaim my faith in God and to dedicate my entire life to serving him and furthering his kingdom. Thank you.
