Life Together

Family Meeting

This past Sunday we gathered for a Family Meeting to talk about how the Lord is at work in Grace Church! Here are a few highlights from our time:

Weekly Emails
Moving forward, each member of Grace Church will have the ability to opt in or out of receiving the two emails that are sent out every week: Prayer Requests and Sunday Schedule Reminder.

Community Outreach Opportunities
- As a church we have been supporting a single mom of three young boys in our community on a monthly basis through the donations of a few members. If you would like to contribute, either one time or on a regular basis, you can give by check or online and simply write “Benevolence” in the memo.
- We will no longer be collecting food each month for the Urbana Food Bank (although anyone can continue donating directly at the Urbana Giant). However, we are in the process of exploring opportunities to serve and partner with Frederick Rescue Mission, an organization that seeks to meet the basic needs of food and shelter for the homeless. If you are interested in getting involved in some way, please speak with one of the deacons or email deacons@gracechurchmd.org.

Kids Bible Class
In addition to Engaging God’s Word and Kids Catechism, we are going to be starting Kids Bible Class for pre-readers between the ages of 3-6! This class will run at the same time as the Kids Catechism Class—the first and third Sundays of each month—and start on September 17. If you are interested in helping with this class, please contact Elise at elise@gracechurchmd.org. We will be using The Biggest Story Curriculum which requires minimal preparation.

John also covered an update to our approach to security, Fengyu provided an update on our Chinese Ministry, Chris walked us through a financial update, and Devon wrapped-up the meeting by asking the church to pray about an exciting opportunity the Lord seems to be putting before us.
